Apple has no interest in making different sizes/models of iPhones. If you don't care for that, apple isn't for you. They are a greatest common denominator company.
Perhaps. But it should be noted that at one time Apple didn't have any interest in making different sizes/models of iPods either. Or CDMA phones. Point being, things change.

If they add the "word processing mode", then that simultaneously renforces my gripes with it (see other threads), then negates them.
It's an extra step in setting up a document, but I like the thought of it from a productivity standpoint. As long as there's no Clippy.

Can you name a few more? I have only seen Sony support AAC on their PMP devices.
Moto Android phones play AAC iTunes music just fine too.
One of the reasons why I picked the phone I have now.
I have a large iTunes library that I have no desire to repurchase or convert to another format.
DoubleTwist syncs them over without any issues.
My thoughts exactly. Reeks of collusion and I could see lawsuits flying over this.
I would like to know how you came to that conclusion?
Vendors offer different pricing to retailers all the time.
I would be more worried if they were all priced the same. (Price fixing is a big no no in the eyes of the DOJ)

Nope, I've never enabled them before on my iPad as I'm not an official Apple developer and I didn't have access to the beta release that included this feature in the past.

It's not 5 patents, it's actually 10 patents. Reuters has some details :
http://www.reuters.com/article/2011/04/22/us-samsung-apple-idUSTRE73L0DG20110422?WT.tsrc=Social%20Media&WT.z_smid=twtr-reuters_%20com&WT.z_smid_dest=Twitter
Samsung said the suits, filed in South Korea, Japan and Germany, involved 10 alleged infringements of patents mainly involving power reduction during data transmission, 3G technology for reducing errors during data transmission, and wireless data communication technology.
Again, Apple sues over looks, gets counter-sued over base functionality they can't do without.
In the end, consumers, be them Apple customers or Samsung customers will lose and the lawyers will win. It's surprising anyone here sees any positive in this.

Even more entertaining is the fact that Apple is so arrogant they fail to realize how stupid they look.
Suing their biggest vendor.
It doesn't get any more stupid than that.
They're not suing them to make money, or protect their patents.
It's the trademark they are protecting. They'll probably lose in court, but win outside of it.

Give it up already. This is not true. The only image you could trust is the one looking straight on for both phones and they look the same in that one. All the rest use perception to make one look thicker.
And the case issue? LMAO!
1. Apple would tell case manufacturers if this were a problem so that they could prepare.
2. The difference in thickness would be minimal (10%?? No way). So only a few cases would be affected so owners of white iphones would have to selected from a smaller variety of options. If this were a true story that is.
The only people who could possibly get upset would be owners of black iphone 4's who bought a white iphone 4's and want to use the same case. But how many people actually bought an iphone 4 less than 6 months ago and are now buying the same phone again just for the color?

I have a baseless, out-of-left-field prediction that I think would increase the Mac marketshare even further:
I think Apple and Microsoft will partner to include Virtual PC in Leopard. I can see them doing it as a BTO pre-install (like iWork), either Virtual PC alone, or with an XP/Vista bundle.
I can see no reason why Microsoft would have such a hard time with a virtualization program when little old Parallels can do it so quickly. They state they are "working with Apple to determine the future of the Virtual PC roadmap" or something like that. It would allow Apple to leverage the new "big plus" of having Windows run in virtualization, but it would force MICROSOFT to support it.
Everyone wins.
Just a guess :)

1 Chocolate birthday, 2 chocolate pb swirl, 2 pumpkin spice, 1 red velvet, and 1 vanilla/chocolate. Picking them up tomorrow
Nice. How were the pumpkin ones? I'm thinking about getting my wife cupcakes instead of a traditional cake for her bday.
I go to school at Gtown down the street so its just a quick stop on the way home.

also, you need to have a passkey and completed 10 WUs with your passkey before you'll get a bigadv unit
Actually you should get the bigadv right away, but the bonus will be awarded once you get 10 units recorded with the passkey.

Yes, Microsoft is (and always has been) moving into other areas and fails in some, but their software machine is very strong in the client desktop software and server market. Their business and monopoly just keeps growing, they aren't desperate. All business tries to expand, especially when you have billions of spare profit to burn every quarter. Wish I was as "desperate" as them.

Guys, I didn't want to start a new thread, but...
Should I buy the ix.Mac.MarketingName now? I've heard the ix.Mac.MarketingName 2 is going to be much more betterer. Should I buy now or wait? I was waiting for the price to come down, but it hasn't changed in the entire 5 minutes I've known about this product...

Aren't we quickly getting to the point where it's all about the software?
Ok, so we know iPhone 5 will get dual core A5....big deal. It'll be nice to have the extra power, but the iPhone 4 now is no slouch.
Added RAM.....yeah, that would be nice....but not going to suddenly sell more phones because it has more RAM :p
Display won't get any better resolution-wise. Doubt they'd go with a larger screen either.
Better cameras....ok.....still, the iPhone 4 cameras are no slouch, and it's not like it will reach the quality of a nice DSLR with those tiny sensors.
Better graphics processing.....sure.....but it's not like it has to drive a 9.7" screen like the iPad.
I'd say Apple is smartly switching into software mode. Kick ass with iOS5, revamp notifications, make some much needed overhauls to the system, and optimize performance for todays devices (iPhone 4, iPad & iPad 2).
Apple is going to stay ahead with software. That's the way Apple is and always has been.
-Kevin
I agree fully. Other than incremental spec bumps that keep up with the industry and dropping component prices and moving into newer and newer radio technologies, what else is there to cram into the hardware? Sure in the future there will be some new must include hardware technology, but it doesnt exist today.
Apples competitive edge (with Mac & iDevices) is in the OSes and apps. The only thing Im clamoring for in iOS 5 is liberating iDevices from iTunes on a PC/Mac. Sure, people can still use iTunes, but it shouldnt be the only way. iPads especially should be fully independent devices as theyll increasingly be the only computer for a large demographiclike my mom.
