Don't discount microsoft - they have money to lose for years in trying to get #1 for MP3 - slowly they creep up and overturn Apple - apple doesn't ahve the same stamina.
A long term commitment, not a short term thing.
Aside from trying to be funny, I was just pointing out that--for myself--I'd rather read about Mac rumors not MS rumors. I think the whole point of confirming Zune this early is just this, create spin. A consumer, music product that is years away from making any impact is now first page news on Macrumors...again.
I understand its potential. I understand MS's deep pockets. I would just prefer to read about it on MSrumors.com or Zunerumors.com. :D

Here is my take on this.
Apple has this market wrapped up. People don't know what an MP3 player is, they know what an iPod is.
Those who love the Zune are hypocrites. Everyone hates the iPod. Why? Inferior everything. Plus you are locked into the iPod/iTunes/iTMS and can't do what you want with your music.
Now, MS is doing the same thing. And everyone praises it. They are pulling the same add campaign as Sandisk was. Conforming isn't cool, don't be a sheep. If everyone starts buying a Zune aren't you still a sheep if you buy it? Not to mention they are dumping PlaysForSure, the DRM they helped build, and screwing tons of people who have bought PFS music already. Not to mention screwing their partners.
The fact that the will buy you out of iTunes shows what kind of game they are playing. They don't care about consumers, all they care about is winning. All I can say is they are 5 years late to the ball game. Good luck.

i've done that but with philips instead of sony.
what i don't see to get is why everyone is saying that it's going to be almost "the doom" of samsung if they stop providing components to apple.
rim tablets are on hold because apple took all the panels they need... samsung has more clients that apple.
they have bad, ugly phones? yeah they do, always had.
they are going to loose some income if they stop doing business with apple? yeah.
is it going to be vital from them? not in a remote chance.

Mine is definitely thicker than my black one. One of them (bought two today) is actually crooked.... when I lay it down on a flat surface it doesn't lay down completely... there is a "wobble" to it.. wonder if the case is warped.

I have had every model of iPhone since they where released in 2007..... The only one I did not sell with a profit was the original iPhone where no contract discount pricing was available.....
Every other model made money at resale.
Might get this, might not. Don't do contracts so it would be a simple case of buying and selling. Something most people I know do. You lot (Americans) should start doing the same and stop being beholden to 24 month contracts.

Nice idea and interesting. best bet would be a collaboration with Panasonic. After all since Pioneer stopped production of the best flast screen TVs ever and Panasonic employing those engineers who got laid of from Pioneer, their new 2011 panels are simply the best platform for it. if they put it into a Samsung or alike then no thanks. panny s are reasonably priced.
I could see something like that where Apple TV and games are integrated into a high-end set. Would love for someone to own this space and clean up all of these damn black boxes. Of course, they may have to cave in use Blu-Ray somehow.

I don't disagree with you on this. I am by no means whatsoever advocating that everyone should gain a hundred or so pounds just because I happen to like plenty of curves. What this person was hinting at doing is indeed physically dangerous, in fact just as dangerous long-term as a Roux-en-Y gastric bypass or other drastic weight-loss measure.
Thank goodness she recanted her statement afterward. I think she was starting to enjoy the publicity after the first couple of media appearances-- it's not everyday a big girl gets attention, y'know-- but after a while she saw the negative aspect of that publicity and decided it wasn't for her.

Besides the arguments about this not really making sense from a business perspective, I'm not sure how it would work from a set-up perspective.
So you have the Apple TV built-in. Great. So you get your programs direct to your TV. Great. Except that you don't want the audio there. You want the audio in your receiver, so you can power your surround system. So now you're running a wire out of the TV and into your receiver. God, how clunky.
This is why a set-top box makes MUCH more sense. One wire out of the box goes into either your TV directly (if it's a small system, bedroom set, etc.), or direct into your receiver, where the audio and video can be handled correctly.
Content in a "living room" TV just doesn't make sense to me. It's one of the reasons (IMO) why you don't see integrated DVD players on big tvs (where they'll be used with a full surround system), but you do see them on small "bedroom" TVs.

Very true. Plus, turbo mode is mostly marketing hype. It should be called turbo fraud. It doesn't work the way it's advertised, ie, most of the time when you need it to. So, what you're really getting is a 1.4 GHZ computer that's advertised as a 2.3 GHZ one. That's taking marketing hype to the extreme. The only way I would buy a computer with one of Intel's turbo hyped CPU's is if the bottom score met my needs. I would never rely on the hyped theoretical upper score in making my decision and in this case 1.4 GHZ doesn't cut it for me.
Intel's marketing only specifies the base processor speed, not the turbo speed. For example, the i5-2537M under discussion here is advertised as a 1.4GHz chip. Guess what? Its base clock speed is 1.4GHz. It can turbo up to 2.3GHz but it is in no way advertised as being a 2.3GHz chip. Here is the product sheet directly from Intel:

If I look at people with their iphones, i see like less than 5% using anything on their phones. And all of them use the Apple bumper on some iphone 4. I've seen hundreds of iphones in the wild, but I still have to see one non-bumper case in the wild.

In Boston, mostly everyone I know with an iPhone, including myself, uses a case. It's more surprising when you see someone NOT using a case.
I use a case so it doesn't get as damaged in my pocket, and in the event you drop the device, there may be some saving grace that it doesn't shatter the glass.
