When they made the switch into a for-profit money making business, I said this was a possibility... that they may go overboard in the revenue boosting side, at the expense of the clients.
It's a path that many businesses take, unless they follow the customer first model instead. Which doesn't make the investors as happy, but it does help keep a happy client base growing.
The ads are everywhere because they're trying to squeeze every penny out they can.
And it CAN get worse, think along the bank and cable company models.
There's a lot of money that they haven't even started going after yet -- a $1-10 a month here, there, and everywhere.

Okay, so I've restored the drive to one partition, but now when i try to download the window support software I get an error message telling me "the support software is not available".
Surely it's not usually this difficult?
Oh - that's been a bug that's been around since they allowed for direct download. For some reason it simply doesn't work. You have to use the software located on your Snow Leopard disk. (Or disk 1 of the grey disks you got with your computer). You do this from the Windows side after you install XP. Note that the most recent models do not support XP because the component manufacturers didn't release drivers.

The ATI Radeon HD 5770 doesn't work with the ACD27". I know it has DisplayPort, but there is a bug with various ATi 5xxx cards which makes them incompatible. It is an ATi issue and there is NO fix.
That being said, all ATI 5xxx EYEFINITY 6 cards with DisplayPort work. All AMD Radeon 6xxx cards with DisplayPort work. And all nVidia GeForce cards with DisplayPort work. You can get a nice GeForce card w/ DP for $150. And any modern video card will support 2560x1440. Any DisplayPort video card on newegg will work for you as long as it isn't an ATi Radeon 5xxx card. You could also buy an Atlona DP400 but its $150, the same as a new video card (ripoff).
This is simply not accurate I'm afraid.
The 27" ACD works absolutely fine with the Apple OEM 5770 upgrade card with MDP, also with the 5870. After all, why would Apple sell these graphic cards if they didn't work with their only display? Further, my 5870 and 27" ACD get along like a house on fire. Note that you have to buy the Apple cards, not just a standard PC card like you seem to be implying.
As for the OP?
I'd definitely recommend a new GPU. You have several options, which all work fine despite Apple not officially supporting some of them:
1) NVIDIA GT120 - slowest card, but also the cheapest.
2) ATi 4870 (Apple OEM) - decent card, overpriced now though
3) ATi 5770 (Apple OEM) - same performance as the 4870, but more VRAM
4) ATi 5870 (Apple OEM) - best card currently available for Mac Pros
Your 2008 Mac Pro has PCIe 2.0, so no problems there. New card goes in the bottom slot, and you can keep your 2600XT installed as well.

What is going on in the software dept at 1 infinite loop?
Not only is this update overdue, but its the only one of Apple's own iPhone apps to even be touched for iOS4 or the iPhone 4.
None of the Apps have been updated to a universal version with iPad support.
Oh, but Find my iPhone was critically important to have out on launch...
It's embarrassing.
I mean, what kind of example does this set for other devs? Apple expects their developers of technically completed products (apps) to be updated asap to support all of the latest features of the latest devices. Yet they themselves have half a dozen critical apps that haven't even been touched?

I am not fluent in Perl but I do use Python at my work. I am mainly a C++ developer. I find Python easy to use and quite powerful for the things you listed. There are many 3rd party libraries that will help with most things you need to do. A SSH client called Paramiko was VERY helpful to me for logging into servers and transferring files and running commands. This site may help get you started with Python and Paramiko's SSH library.
http://jessenoller.com/2009/02/05/ssh-programming-with-paramiko-completely-different/
As for the file and string manipulations you listed, I find just doing a google search is helpful enough.
Just make sure you get a Python debugger if you go that way. I use Eclipse with Pydev. I am sure others may suggest a better debugger. It is adequate for my needs.

people aren't answering you because you should just do what the other person suggested. stop being stubborn and take it into apple care
There could be other reasons its only working after a restart... That's why I was looking for another answer besides one reply...
So unless you have no input be on your way..
What if I needed my computer and couldn't have it gone for a week for some ****** superdrive...
It's pretty pathetic I pay 1000+ for this Macbook, and a month later the cheap ass cd drive fails.

You can install Snow Leopard client from a USB stick. You can google for instructions on how to prepare a USB stick.
A clean install of Snow Leopard would be ideal unless you're moving from an old Mac and would rather not setup and configure everything again.
I just read the thread on SL vs SL server in the OS X section, Basically if you have to ask the question you should just install the client OS.
I'm making my USB SL client stick as we speak So I can do a fresh install
Thanks for the Help

Thanks for the fast response.
Maybe I'm looking in the wrong places (newegg, Amazon, Buy.com), but the Intel appears to be $50-100 more expensive than the M4.
Amazon & Buy.com are currently sold out (except for more expensive resellers) right now! Hope more come in stock soon.

Hey guys I'm new to this jailbreaking thing and had question and I hope one of you iPhone wizards can help me out. I was wondering if I am running on 3.1.3 firmware right now(my iPhone is currently jailbroken) if I were to update my firmware would I lose the jailbreak?? Would it unjailbreak my phone with a firmware update? I really don't want to try and re jailbreak it, will I have to or would the iPhone still remain jailbroken even if I update?? Help would be much appreciated guys!! Thank you in advance
What model iphone?
Yes every time you restore or update you lose your JB and everything installed. You have to rejailbreak and install your stuff again.

Your problem is that you formatted it as FAT32, which win7 doesn't like. What you need to do is create the partition with Boot Camp Assistant like before, but when it asks if you want to go to the installer, say no. Then use winclone to restore on that partition. I don't believe that it gets formatted in that process.
It does, as FAT32. That's not the problem.

We got T-shirts as we came in, so no purchase was necessary. I wonder what they do with the leftover T-shirts if a store doesn't use them all up?

I think you have both your history and lineup matches mixed up.
The 5D was released in the summer of 2005. The D700 was released in the summer of as was the 5D Mark II.
The two cameras are not direct competitors in my mind, regardless of their being full frame. The 5D Mark II cannot match the D700's autofocus capabilities, nor can the D700 match the resolution offered by 21 megapixels in the 5D Mark II.
I think they are de facto competitors, but not so much in reality when you start to think about it more.
At any rate, what's the rush? My D700 is everything I need. What more do you think you need?
